Domestic calls
All incoming calls are FREE, regardless of where they originate.
All domestic calls within the UK (landlines, mobiles, voicemail retrieval) are just 15p (approx. US$0.30) per minute.
Calls to IDT mobiles are 8p per minute (approx. US$0.16).
Text messages are charged at 10p (approx. US$0.20) per message.
International calls
All international calls are calls originating from the United Kingdom, while you are in the United Kingdom to international numbers outside the United Kingdom.

Activating your service
Your United Kingdom SIM card will provide you with a UK mobile phone number, which can be found on the back of your SIM card. The number will start with 04 or 07.
To activate your service:
- Travel to the United Kingdom.
- Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
- Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
- Turn your phone on.
- Dial 1244 to activate your service and carefully listen to the prompts.
- Turn your phone off and then back on.
- Start calling.
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^ Your United Kingdom SIM card requires a 4 digit PIN code. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter a PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.
Making and receiving calls
How to make a call
To make an international call from your United Kingdom mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, the country code 44 and your mobile phone number.
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 44 and then your mobile phone number without the leading (0) zero.
Recharging your account
To add credit to your United Kingdom SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called recharge cards. You will find recharge vouchers at convenience stores, petrol stations and authorized dealers in the United Kingdom.
To recharge your account:
- Purchase an IDT recharge voucher.
- Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code.
- Follow the instructions printer on your recharge voucher.
To check your current balance:
- Dial 1966 and listen to the voice prompts.
Do not purchase another United Kingdom SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need to purchase a recharge voucher!
