Your BestMates can be on any Vodafone plan, and they don’t need to have you as their BestMate.

Get calls and text messaging to Vodafone friends and family FREE all weekend long, by registering. Spend $5 on calls, text messages or video calls to any network Monday to Friday and get free Vodafone to Vodafone text messaging all Saturday & Sunday. Or spend $10 Monday to Friday and get free Vodafone to Vodafone calls and text messages all Saturday and Sunday.
Please note free Saturday and Sunday calls and text messaging are only between Vodafone mobiles in New Zealand.
TXT2000
For just $10 a month you can send up to 2000 TXTs to any Vodafone New Zealand mobile. So if you send more than 50 TXTs each month (less than two a day on average) you'll clean up.

Your New Zealand mobile phone number is located on the flap of the packaging containing your SIM card and underneath the first bar code and above "PH NUMBER". Your mobile phone number begins with 02.
To activate your service:
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter a PIN code incorrectly. Your phone may or may not prompt you for a PIN code. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone along with PIN2. Call 0800 800 021 immediately to receive a customized PUK after you have answered security questions.
How to make a call
To make an international call from your New Zealand mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, the country code 64 and your mobile phone number, omitting the leading 0 (zero)
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 64 and then your mobile phone number.
To add credit to your New Zealand SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers or use your credit card. You will find recharge vouchers at most supermarkets, service stations and selected dairies and appliance stores in New Zealand.

Do not purchase another New Zealand SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Customer service for your New Zealand SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 777 at any time from your New Zealand mobile phone or at 0800 800 021 from a landline phone.
Your call credit is valid for 12 months from the last time you recharged.
You need to recharge with $20 at least every 12 months. Every time you recharge, you extend the validity of your SIM card for another 12 months.
If you do not recharge your SIM card within 12 months, your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
