The Cyprus SIM card, combined with an international mobile phone, is the most simple and economical solution for making and receiving mobile phone calls while in the Cyprus. All incoming calls while in Cyprus are FREE, regardless of where they originate. Pay the local rate for local calls and use a mobile phone in Cyprus like you do at home. Since this SIM card is prepaid, there are no monthly fees and no need for a contract.

All domestic calls are charged at .04 CYP ($.07 USD) per minute.
All incoming calls are free, regardless of where they originate.

Activating your service
Your Cyprus SIM card will provide you with a local Cyprus mobile phone number that begins with 357.
To activate your service:
- Travel to Cyprus.
- Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
- Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
- Turn your phone on.
- Start calling.
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
Making and receiving calls
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Cyprus mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, followed by the country code 357 and your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 357 and then your mobile phone number.
Recharging your account
To add credit to your Cyprus SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Areeba Airtime me vouchers. You will find these vouchers at local tobacco shops, convenience stores, petrol stations or newspaper stands in Cyprus.
To recharge your account:
- Purchase a recharge voucher.
- Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your 14 digit voucher code.
- Dial *202*, the 14 digit code, [SEND].
Do not purchase another Cyprus SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Contacting Customer Service
Customer service for your Cyprus SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 123 from your mobile phone or 359 02 942 8000 from a landline.
Service life
The initial validity period is 30 days, while for the voucher cards it is always 12 months.
If you recharge within the validity period, any remaining balance in your account will be added to your new top up amount, with a new validity period of 12 months.
If you do not recharge within the validity period, all outgoing calls are barred. During this period of 10 days (grace period) you can recharge as normal. Any unused credit will be lost if you do not top up during these 10 days.
After the end of the 12 month validity period plus the 10 days grace period, you can only receive incoming calls for the next 90 days and all outgoing calls are barred.
To reactivate your account within the grace period, you will have to visit an Areeba shop or purchase avoucher card and call 136 to recharge your account. If you do not reactivate your account, your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
